Illegibilus: Quinn Thornsbeak

Born and raised in the muggle world, Quinn is the yougest child in a fairly-wealthy household. His mother manages and owns an antique shop and his father works in Muggle-relations, a busy job that requires him to travel in and out of the wizarding world. The father, Quentin, is a pureblood wizard who fell in love with Elena, a muggle. Much to his families protest, Quentin cut off ties to marry her but kept his job at the Muggle Liaison Office. 

Keith and Erin, Quinn's older brother and sister--twins, were intelligent children, highly praised for their good grades in class and outstanding performance, Quinn naturally felt the pressure to perform just as well as them but rather fell short on academics.  Being the youngest in the family, Quinn was spoiled by his grandmother. As a kid, he had everything other classmates would mostly get envy off and he would use this to gain attention from peers. But, in time he realized that his so called 'friends' only wanted to be with him because he had something they wanted, and that he never really had any real friends. In turn, it made him skeptical of people's motives and he would often bully the kids who were questionably liked by others, those who didn't deserve the attention he could not have for himself.  

"I deserve it. Not them--I will take it from them."

In time, Quinn had a bad reputation in school, branded as one of the bullies going in and out of detention. His mother would often defend him from teachers and fetch him from school, and he reveled over the attention he was getting. It was one of the few times he saw that his mother had time for him--and so he did it often, he did it a lot.

Over time, due to influence of certain events, he had developed a mild dislike for cold weather, finding his threshold for cold rather lower than others and would shiver badly at certain temperatures where some people find it bearable. He can still go outside and do things other folks would do in winter but only when he has a reason to (wearing layers over layers of clothing) , he would much rather stay inside where it's toasty and not complain about the negative weather.

Both Elena and Quentin, had doubts on sending their son to Hogwarts but seeing as the boy was troublesome with his magic, and had been doing a few magic tricks himself without really knowing it (he was quite a prankster as a kid and would trip people through sheer will as well as other things), they decided it would do good for him, in hopes that he'd learn to control his use (or misuse) of magic. Quinn on the other hand felt like he was being exiled to some unknown place and had to leave the comfort of home to go to boarding school. He would have outright refused it, if it were not a school for wizards and witches...

School years:
Quinn's first year in hogwarts was a struggle. He hated everything and he wanted to go home on the first month. He had no friends and he was lonely. The fact that he was sorted into gryffindor, instead of the house his siblings and his father got made him feel out of place in the family and felt more pressure to do well in school. Quinn tried at first but his efforts were futile and he could never achieve what his brother and sister got. He went on to using his magic to playing pranks on other students, often leading him to trouble. On his second year, his grandfather gave him Cole, his cat, as a companion and his pranking was significantly lessened or rather -- just fewer detention time because Cole would often help him with pranks making him slip away undetected.

On his third year, he continued on with his ways but kept his pranking reputation. Unwillingly joins the hogwarts orchestra to appease his mothers worries. His fourth year on hogwarts was the most eventful. He started mingling with people, and have grown fond to a special few. The recent events had made him question a lot of things, making his perspective on some people change significantly.


Has gained more friends, surprisingly from the house he used to bully a lot, hufflepuff. He still dislikes ravenclaw, but not as much as before. Fifth year was a harsh year for him; it has brought in bitter rejections and revelations, which made him grow more wary and doubtful in matters of the heart. He plans on concentrating on Quidditch this year.

Due to last years events he still has doubts with the school system and it wasn't about to change anytime soon, even with the change of administration.

Cole's a cat that Quinn got on his second year in Hogwarts and has been his loyal companion whenever he's in the common room or in his bedroom. Whenever his master's out or in class, Cole could be seen moving about in the courtyard or on his own in the hallways. Hates being cooped up in one place and is always busy. Highly intelligent, he does whatever Quinn asks him and helps him with his tricks/pranks in exchange for a treat or an extra long back rub, usually serves as a look out whenever he goes out after curfew hours. Doesn't bother people but he has no problems getting along with humans and may even be considered a lot friendlier than his master. Has no problems getting along with some pets but may attack when provoked.
He has lost some of his fat and is back to being his lean, active self. Had been neutered over the summer because Quinn doesn't want certain things to happen again.

- likes Quidditch. Has a collection of Krum dolls and plush toys related to Quidditch. (its a secret, he keeps his collection at home where no one visits.)
- plays violin. Skill level has gone better than last year, prefers playing alone than in front of an audience.
- looks a lot older for his age, he is usually mistaken as a senior or someone much older. He had a sudden growth spurt around late in his third year.
- low tolerance to cold. Wears a black inner shirt under his uniform and wears more than just the school coat/cloak on winter.
- is a natural at charms and potions, as well as DADA. Sucks at herbology and History.
- Bisexual. Finds neither genders attractive than the other. Would be easily attracted to anyone with power.
- Has some small scars on his right leg from last years event. That right leg is a weakness, kick him there if you get bullied. //hit
- is actually good with handling children.
